"It is precisely the presence and life of an educational community, in which all the members participate in a fraternal communion, nourished by a living relationship with Christ and with the Church, that makes the Catholic school the environment for an authentically ecclesial experience." (Educating Together in Catholic Schools, 2007).
Each week we gather together to celebrate Mass with the broader parish community. School students participate in the choir, read, and serve at Mass. We usually celebrate Mass as a school on Wednesdays at 8:45am, unless there is a major feast day during the week.
Before Christmas and Easter, special opportunities are made available for students to attend the Sacrament of Penance.
In the second grade, students are prepared for the reception of the Sacrament of Penance for the first time. In the fall of the third grade, students are prepared to receive First Holy Communion and the Sacrament of Confirmation. In November they join other third graders in the parish and receive the Sacraments with the Bishop.
Throughout the school year, we celebrate a number of special liturgies with the students. These include the Blessing of the Animals on the Feast of St. Francis, the Living Rosary, the Stations of the Cross, and Crowning of Mary in May.
